History

The Board of Revenue West Pakistan was constituted by Ordinances of 1955/1956 which were replaced by the West Pakistan Board of Revenue Act 1957. On dissolution of the Province of West Pakistan in 1970, it was designated as Board of Revenue Punjab.

    آئین اکبری انشائے ابوالفضل میں شامل عہد اکبری کے درباری مؤرخ ابو الفضل ابن مبارک(متوفی 1602ء) کی تصنیف ہے۔ یہ جلال الدین اکبر کے عہد کی ایک مستند دستاویزی کتاب ہے جس میں عہدِ اکبری کے تمام قانون و اُصول ہائے سلطنت کو تحریر کیا گیا ہے۔ اکبر نامہ کی تکمیل 1590ء میں ہوئی۔ غالباً قیاس کیا جا سکتا ہے کہ آئین اکبری کی تشکیل 1590ء کے بعد عمل میں آئی۔ 1590ء سے 1602ء کے درمیانی زمانے تک ابوالفضل نے شاید اِسی کی تصنیف میں وقت صرف کیا ہے۔ آئین اکبری دراصل اکبر نامہ کا ضمیمہ ہے۔مغل شہنشاہ جلال الدین اکبر کے 46 سالہ دورِ حکومت یعنی 1556ء سے 1602ء تک کا مجموعہ قانون و اُصول ہائے سلطنت ہے۔اِن چھیالیس سالوں کی نظم ونسق کی تاریخ اور سلطنت کا صوبہ وار جغرافیہ اِس کتاب میں موجود ہے۔ یہ اکبر نامہ کے بعد وقتی ضرورت کے تحت لکھی گئی تاکہ جلال الدین اکبر کے عہد تک مغلیہ سلطنت کے صوبوں کا جغرافیہ، حالات ہائے صوبہ جات اور اُن صوبوں سے حاصل ہونے والا محصول بیان ہوجائے۔ جلال الدین اکبر چونکہ خود ان پڑھ تھا، لہٰذا نورتن وزراء میں ابوالفضل ابن مبارک نے اکبر نامہ اور آئین اکبری لکھ کر اِن ضروریات کو پورا کر دیا تاکہ کسی بھی صوبے یا علاقے کا دستاویزی ریکارڈ بھی مرتب ہو سکے۔کتاب کے اختتام پر مصنف ابوالفضل نے اپنے حالات بھی تحریر کیے ہیں۔ "Ain-i-Akbari" is a composition by Abu'l-Fazl ibn Mubarak (d. 1602), a court historian during the reign of Emperor Akbar. It is included in Abu'l-Fazl’s larger work, the Akbarnama, and is considered an authentic and detailed documentary account of Akbar’s era. The book records all the laws, administrative principles, and regulations of the Mughal Empire during Akbar's rule. The Akbarnama was completed in 1590, and it is generally believed that the Ain-i-Akbari was compiled after 1590. It is likely that Abu'l-Fazl spent the years between 1590 and 1602 working on this monumental text. The Ain-i-Akbari is essentially an appendix to the Akbarnama. It covers the 46-year reign of Emperor Jalal-ud-Din Akbar, from 1556 to 1602, and presents a comprehensive account of the administration and laws of the empire during that period. The book includes the historical background of governance, the geography of the empire by province, and details about revenue collection from various regions. Since Emperor Akbar himself was illiterate, Abu'l-Fazl, one of the Navratnas (Nine Jewels) in his court, fulfilled the need for a written administrative record by composing both the Akbarnama and the Ain-i-Akbari. These works ensured that official documentation of provincial affairs and the imperial system was maintained. At the end of the Ain-i-Akbari, Abu'l-Fazl also included an autobiographical account of his life.
